FAQ's

  • What ?

  • What does Hop On Hop Off exactly mean?
    • With a Hop On Hop Off ticket from City Sightseeing Brussels you can travel on 1 of our 2 Brussels lines. You can leave the busses on1 of the 22 Hop On Hop Off stops, explore the area, get back on a later bus and continue the chosen route. This as much as you wish during the validity of your ticket. Check the frequency of the buses in the timetable to be back in time for your next bus. From mid-July till the end of August, for example, there is a bus every 15 minutes.
  • What are Hop On Hop Off stops ?
    • City Sightseeing buses run along a fixed route. Our 2 lines follow routes along the most important attractions and sights of Brussels. Our Hop On Hop Off stops were selected by professionals so you can also visit the most important places in Brussels. Just step off the bus where you want (Hop Off) and then step back on  when you want (Hop On).
  • Can we start our City Sightseeing Brussels tour from the Hop On Hop Off stop that we choose ?
    • Certainly, you leave the bus at the Hop On Hop Off stop that you choose. The audio guide comments rotate in a constant run, so you will have heard all the comments if you make the complete route end up at the same stop where you started your trip.
    • We do have a starting point : the stop 1 of both lines at the Central Station. The 2 lines start and end at that point. If you Hop On on another Hop On Hop Off stop, you will need to Hop Off at the Central Station, even if you only started your tour very recently.
  • Are we going to see all of Brussels's most important sights ?
    • Well, eeeuhm ... not all. But if you balance your own Hop On Hop Off trip well and take both Line 1 - Atomium (Blue Line) & Line 2 - Europe (Red Line), a City Sightseeing Brussels tour is the most comprehensive way to get to know Brussels. You will then have seen a very large part of the most important Brussels attractions. The routes are organized in collaboration with Visit.Brussels (Brussels City Tourist Office) and other tourism professionals.
  • What's the difference between Line 1 - Atomium (Blue Line) & Line 2 - Europe (Red Line) ?
    • We recommend to visit the city with both lines. Line 1 takes you to the northern part of the city. This line gives a more general view of the city and travels along the Atomium (still the most iconic monument in Belgium). Line 2 leads you to the southern part of the city. This line focuses more on what the city has to offer on a national, European and international political level.
  • How can I get back on the double decker to follow my tour ?
    • You can just get back on the double deckers at every stop of the 2 lines of City Sightseeing Brussels as long as your ticket is valid. Pay attention to the timetable hanging out of the Hop On Hop Off stops ! Show your ticket to the bus driver and there you go again !
  • If I Hop Off, do I need to buy another ticket to Hop On the next bus ?
    • No, a 24h Hop On Hop Off ticket is valid for the full 24h from the moment your ticket was validated by the first bus driver of the bus you Hopped On. A 48h Hop On Hop Off ticket is 48h valid. This means you can travel as much as you like without additional costs, as long as your ticket is valid.
  • If I buy a Hop On Hop Off ticket, am I obliged to choose 1 line ?
    • No, your ticket is valid on the 2 lines : on Line 1 - Atomium (Blue Line) and on Line 2 - Europe (Red Line).
  • When ?

  • 365 days per year ?
    • In principle, our double deckers drive every day of the year, but occasionally it happens we can not drive 1 or even 2 lines. Other days it happens Hop On Hop Off stops are closed or we have to change a route/timetable due to public traffic works or special events in the city such as Brussels 20km, Brussels Marathon, ... Check out our website or the additional info via Facebook or at the Hop On Hop Off stops.
  • Do the City Sightseeing buses also run on Sundays and public holidays ?
    • Yes, our double deckers run in principle 7 days at 7, all year round. But there are some exceptions (Road works, events in the city,...)
  • What time do tours start and finish?
    • That depends on the period of the year. This is in the summer (high season) usually between 9.30am and 6:00 pm at the Hop On Hop Off Stop 1 at the Central Station. See the timetable.
